Vice- President: Mitch Smailes: Mitch left the seas as a marine engineer and moved to New Zealand. Lyn and he are busy with family and grandchildren, and Mitch backs up Ron at his meetings with the Mayor, Police, MSD and the wider meetings of Grey Power.
Secretary/Treasurer: Roberta Budvietas is supports and mentors at least one business and uses her skills and knowledge to help Grey Power be more effective. [email protected]
Membership Secretary: Heather Hill. Heather brings experience in administration, community and family support. As a grandmother of 13 and a great grandmother of more, family is an important part of Heather’s life. [email protected]
Committee Members
Gladys Houston manages the monthly meeting raffles and greets attendees at the door most months. She and her husband can be counted on the be there when help is needed. Het creativity and imagination is valued.
Gary Roselli brings his practical experience with trades and inspecting to help us understand the community needs. Having served with Hastings District Council, he brings an understanding of local government challenges,
Lyn McCroskery brings her business and health expertise to the committee. As a midwife, she understands issues relevant to family and medical care
Carol Thomas has volunteered within the district as well as working with home care so understands many of the challenges facing our community. We look forward to working with her on identifying and supporting the needs of our members

- To advance, support and protect the welfare and well being of older people.
- To affirm and protect that statutory right of every New Zealand resident, to a sufficient New Zealand Superannuation entitlement.
- To strive for a provision of a quality Health Care to all New Zealand residents regardless of income and location.
- To oppose all discriminatory and disadvantageous legislation affecting rights, security and dignity.
- To be non aligned with any political party, and to present a strong united lobby to all Parliament and statutory Bodies on matters affecting New Zealanders.
- To promote and establish links with kindred organizations.
- To promote recognition of the wide-ranging services provided by senior citizens of New Zealand.
- To gain recognition as an appropriate voice for all older New Zealanders.
